Description

Nominations are now open for the 2019 WPS Volunteer Awards!!

The Volunteer Center of Brown County is pleased to once again host the community's largest event recognizing the impact that volunteers have on our community! Made possible by event sponsor Wisconsin Public Service, along with the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and our eight generous award sponsors – Aon, Bellin Health, Constellation, The George F. Kress Foundation, Georgia Pacific, Green Bay Packers Give Back, Morgan Stanley and United Healthcare – this event celebrates volunteers and highlights the work they do to assist nonprofits in our area to fulfill their missions. As in 2018, the award amounts will be $1,000 for recipients and $500 for the runners-up.

Please consider taking the time to honor the enormous impact volunteers make in our community by nominating an individual or group for one of the WPS Volunteer Awards. The deadline for nominations is March 1, 2019. See below for the categories.

Your nominee(s) will be honored that you took the time to acknowledge their service. Completing a nomination form doesn't have to take much time, but doing it will truly brighten the lives of those who are strengthening our community through their volunteerism.

Why take the time to submit a nomination?

  • It’s a powerful way to honor the impact that a person or group is having in the community! Each individual nominee and two representatives of group nominations will be our guests at the Awards Breakfast, which will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at the KI Convention Center. All nominees will be recognized at the event.

  • Recipients of the awards and runners-up will receive cash prizes of $1,000 and $500 respectively that they can donate to the nonprofit organization of their choice. The youth recipient and runner-up will receive the award amounts as scholarships.

  • Submitting a nomination creates greater awareness within our community of the organization where the volunteer gives their time and energy.

  • The nominee may also be selected by the Volunteer Center as the “Volunteer of the Week” (which runs weekly in the Press-Gazette) or submitted for regional and state awards following the event.
