Who We Are

The Alzheimer's Association is the world's leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research, dedicated to ending Alzheimer's and all other dementia. Founded in 1980, we accelerate global research, drive risk reduction, and provide 24/7 support for millions of caregivers and those living with the disease.

What We Do

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research, dedicated to accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care. We provide 24/7 help, support groups, and education, while advocating for policies to improve lives and advance treatment. Key Areas of Activity:  -Research Acceleration: As the largest non-profit funder of Alzheimer's research, we invest over $320 million in over 1,000 active projects in 54 countries. -Support & Care: We offer a free 24/7 Helpline 1.800.272.3900, in-person and online support groups (including ALZConnected), and resources for caregivers to navigate the disease journey. -Education & Awareness: We provide education on warning signs, diagnosis, and caregiving, while raising awareness to help the public differentiate between typical aging and dementia. -Advocacy: The Association works with Congress to increase federal funding (reaching $3.8 billion annually), promote risk reduction, and ensure access to treatments. -Local Resources: Through local chapters (such as in Wisconsin), we offer community-specific support and care, including regional conferences.  The organization serves over 7 million Americans with Alzheimer's and nearly 12 million caregivers.
