Furry Companions bring endless joy to everyone at Curative Connections. They promote increased exercise, mobility, lowered blood pressure and a boost in emotional well-being. For many Curative Connections members, furry companions help them feel calm, comfortable and supported in their program. Whether a regular or occasional volunteer, the furry companion opportunity is a wonderful way to make an impact in our community.

Qualifications:

The furry companion must pass a Good Canine Citizen test or be a certified therapy animal with proof of certification and must be up to date on vaccinations.

Volunteer: Volunteer Drivers

Our affordable door-to-door transportation service for adults 60 years and older and people with disabilities has been around for over 50 years, helping thousands of people in our community remain independent.

The success of our service has been largely dependent on volunteer drivers. Please help us continue to make a difference in our community by helping those in need lead a more fulfilling and self-sufficient lifestyle!

Volunteers must have a valid Wisconsin driver license, be 18 years or older, have a good driving record, and complete a minimum of two ride-along shifts with a current volunteer driver.

Flexible Schedule | Shifts are 4-5 hours long with AM/PM options;
Morning route - 7:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon route - 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Vehicles Provided | 
Fleet of vehicles includes sedans, accessible
mini-vans and buses.

Due to COVID-19 social distancing rules, we are currently looking for volunteer drivers who are comfortable driving our larger vehicles, mini-vans and buses.

Insurance Provided | 
Vehicle insurance coverage provided by Curative Connections

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) | 
Not required

Training | 
Provided through ride-alongs with current drivers

Physical Requirements | 
Minimal with no heavy lifting

Rider Fees | 
Minimal handling of rider fee collection

Enjoy the company of others, especially around topics that you’re passionate about? Consider volunteering for one of the multiple realistic spaces at the upcoming Yesteryear Village (opening early 2024). Your time and interest have the ability to turn these spaces into experiences for people attending the day service.

We are looking for individuals who would occasionally or regularly come in to visit with us for at least an hour per occurrence and share in a hobby, skill, pastime, presentation, or even conversation of such with our group of individuals living with memory loss. The village spaces include: Auto shop/Garage, Market/gas station, Diner, Salon/Barbershop, Train Car, Music and Art Room, Community Room with space for presentations, Townsquare, house, four seasons back porch, and outdoor courtyard. Please contact Allyson Crass at 920-593-3575 or acrass@curativeconnections.org.
