Volunteer: Archives & Collections Intern/Volunteer

The Archival and Object Collections at the National Railroad Museum will continue to be researched and documented. This will include the cataloging of photographs, library resources, inventory of model railroad collection, and the map collection.


Qualified individuals will assist the Curatorial Department by:
• Scan objects in the photograph collection
• Inventory model railroad collection
• Inventory map collection
• Complete data entry in PastPerfect software

Help out with the daily operations by being the on board safety officer, pointing out points of interest around the grounds and being interactive with patrons of all ages from all over the world! You can also help out with all the Museum special events like Paw Patrol PAW-Palooza, the Great Pumpkin Train and much more! Here at the museum many folks choose our venue to hold their special day, whether it is a birthday or a wedding you can help make their day special as a conductor on board the train! The National Railroad Museum is looking for an individual to provide supervision in the Children's Discovery Depot. This individual need should have interest for working with children, be willing to pick-up items and keep the Depot neat, be willing to interact with children and families (encouraging good behavior, reading a story or two, answering basic Museum questions), and be able to work alone.
