Volunteer Responsibilities:

As a Garden  Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the beauty of our serenity garden and other landscaping areas. Key responsibilities include:

Spreading Mulch: Enhance the aesthetics and health of our garden beds by spreading mulch. Weeding: Tend to the flower beds, ensuring a weed-free and vibrant environment. Maintaining Flower Beds: Contribute to the ongoing care and cultivation of our flower beds, creating a peaceful retreat for our guests.

Fill Plates, Stomachs, and Hearts: Be a Meal Hero!

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of those going through a medical crisis away from home? Join the Altrusa Hospitality House Meal Hero Program and help us provide comfort through the simple act of sharing a homecooked meal.

About Altrusa Hospitality House:

Located within the warm embrace of the Altrusa Hospitality House, our fully equipped kitchen stands ready to be a source of nourishment and comfort for families facing medical challenges away from home. Equipped with a stove, oven, microwaves, plates, utensils, and more, our kitchen serves as the heart of our mission to support guests during their stay.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Groups of 1-10 people, including families, companies, teams, and other organizations, are invited to participate in our Meal Hero Program. Volunteers can provide, prepare (either onsite or off), serve, and share a delicious meal with our families. The number of servings needed depends on the current occupancy of the house.  Calendar for Sign up dates located HERE.

Key Information:

Meal Flexibility: Frozen or easily frozen meals are highly encouraged, as guests may not always return in time for dinner. Onsite Engagement: Volunteers are welcome to stay, eat with our guests, and engage in meaningful conversations during the mealtime. Group participation is highly encouraged and appreciated.

Individuals Welcome:

Even if you're not part of a group, individual volunteers are more than welcome to contribute their time, culinary skills, and companionship.

Flexible Options:

Whether you prefer preparing meals at home, in person, or virtually, we welcome your contribution. Volunteers can prepare meals offsite and drop them off for guests, providing a convenient option for those unable to join us in person.
