This volunteer opportunity is flexible. Visits are made on a regular basis (as often as once per week) anytime between the hours of 8am-8pm, any day of the week, with no advanced scheduling. A visit typically lasts between 1-3 hours depending on the preference of the volunteer. Completion of a background check is required and training is provided.

No experience volunteering in a long term care setting? That's ok! Ongoing support, mentoring, and education is provided.

Provide a fun and educational experience for adults (tour groups, senior clubs, garden clubs, etc.) during their visit to Green Bay Botanical Garden.

Responsibilities:

Provide a fun and meaningful education experience for children (schools, scouts, daycares, preschools, etc.) in the Garden!

Tours take place throughout the developed areas of the Garden as well as our natural areas. Tours are typically 1.5 hours in length and can cover between ¾ mile to 1 ½ miles. Each guide will lead 15 to 20 students along with several adult chaperones.

Responsibilities: 

Contribute to beautiful, inspiring, and well-maintained public gardens. Gardening Outdoors begins in April and concludes in mid-November, dependent on the weather. 

April-May ~ Take part in Green House transplanting and dividing plants, adding compost and mulch to the flowerbeds, cutting back plants, and removing mulch from roses and planting roses. Spring cleaning in the gardens consists of sweeping, picking up twigs and leaves and other debris.

May-June ~ Beautiful summer landscapes require planting annual and perennials flowerbeds, watering plants and fertilizing roses, and of course, mulching, weeding, dead-heading, and digging spent spring-flowering bulbs.

June-Sept ~ Maintain the gardens by weeding, mulching, pruning, dead-heading, and staking plants, as well as sweeping, and raking leaves.

Sept-Nov ~Help prepare for winter and next spring by planting bulbs and perennials, cleaning up beds, mulching, and putting roses to bed.

Hop on board the National Railroad Museum's operational train! Help out with the daily operations by being the on board safety officer, pointing out points of interest around the grounds and being interactive with patrons of all ages from all over the world! You can also help out with all the Museum special events like Paw Patrol PAW-Palooza, the Great Pumpkin Train and much more! Here at the museum many folks choose our venue to hold their special day, whether it is a birthday or a wedding you can help make their day special as a conductor on board the train! We are looking for volunteers for local farmers markets and other events! Taste of Hope - A Golden Ladle Event brings together local supporters for a celebration of music, craft beer, raffle prizes, and of course—delicious Booyah, a cherished Midwest tradition. As we build this unique culinary experience, we are searching for talented local chefs like you to help make this event a success.

On Tuesday evenings in the summer, we race our S2 7.9 at Windjammers Sailing Club in Suamico. We are looking for a few volunteers with big boat racing experience that would be willing to assist with navigating the vessel and coach participants on racing techniques. Summer racing is a 15 week series, but we are looking to have multiple two-person instructor teams to make it an easier commitment. Previous sailing experience on a bigger boat is required.

We are seeking volunteers to work in a receptionist role at our Green Bay office location. Greet clients and building visitors, answer phones, route calls, and notify staff that their visitor has arrived. Children's Zoo shifts are  typically 2 hours long, from 10am-12pm or from 12pm-2pm. At some times of the year, shift hours may vary. Shifts are available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The NEW Zoo is looking for volunteers who are interested in supervising the Giraffe Feeding Experience! 

The Feeding Experience is a daily opportunity for volunteers to be involved in, to support the NEW Zoo. Organizing: Track and sort donations; organize basement storage areas, closets, and pantries; etc.

Painting: Assist with painting interior walls at House of Hope properties. Need not be a professional but painting experience is required.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Brown County is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization that provides a voice for children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect who are under the legal protection of the court system.

We recruit, train and support community volunteers to advocate on behalf of children under court protection until they are safe and thriving in permanent homes.

CASA volunteers visit the child regularly & submit a monthly report to the judge on the child's safety and well-being to help the judge make important decisions on the child's future. Every CASA works closely with an Advocate Supervisor, on the CASA staff, who provides support and guidance throughout the court process and child's journey.

You do not need any specialized skills to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer. CASA volunteers are 21 or older, undergo a background, child protective services and reference check, take part in a personal interview, & complete CASA volunteer pre-service training.

CASA volunteers are patient, open-minded people from all walks of life who have good communication skills, a history of following through on commitments, and a willingness to accept guidance. Above all, CASA volunteers care about children and their futures!

All volunteers go through an initial 30 hours of training (15 hours of online coursework and 15 hours of in-person training). The training includes sections that guide you through the role of the CASA volunteer, the child welfare system, needs and development of children, trauma, mental health, poverty, professional communication, cultural competence, educational needs and permanency.

Once training is completed, volunteers are then sworn in by a Brown County Judge, taking an oath of confidentiality.

We are in need of volunteers to come assist with our Safe Routes to School program.

Every year we go into more than 20 schools educating 3rd graders on how to be safe while walking and riding their bike.  Each child receives a free bike helmet and gets to participate in a rodeo.

We need volunteers to assist with fitting bike helmets as well as supervising kids on scooters.

The ADRC is always looking for drivers for our Home Delivered Meals program in Manitowoc. Each day, meals are delivered to community members who have difficulties leaving their homes without assistance. Deliveries take place from 10:45am-1:00pm. Meal pickup occurs at the Manitowoc Senior Center (3330 Custer St., Manitowoc). As a driver, you will be given a predetermined route to deliver for the day.

Volunteers for our Home Delivered Meals must have a valid driver's license, a vehicle, and a clean driving record, and they must pass a background check.

Pick your hours, 2, 4, 6, or 8.

Serve as a welcoming presence for donors, residents, and visitors by greeting everyone with a warm smile and friendly interaction. Provide support to House staff by answering/screening phone calls and creating a positive, helpful environment at the front desk.

Provide attentive, loving, and safe childcare for children while their parents participate in evening educational programming. This role supports the overall mission of our community by ensuring children are well-cared for during programming.

Child Watch is a drop-in babysitting program, intended for the children of members and guests who are using the building. Volunteers assist staff by engaging with children in age appropriate activities, games, crafts, and educational experiences to promote their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Volunteers must be aged 14 or older, and preference is giving to volunteers who have experience babysitting and are certified babysitters. This position requires individuals to be outgoing, energetic, and be willing to engage children, ages 6 months to 7 years old.
