Help us prepare food for the giraffes to sell at the Giraffe Feeding Experience! Depending on the season, we prepare fresh leaves ("browse") or romaine lettuce. The food is processed and cut to size, then counted into boxes and prepared for sales at the feeding experience.
Must be comfortable using hand tools such as a pruner and/or knife with cutting board, with some work outdoors (most takes place indoors). Clicker counters are used. We recommend volunteers be aged 12+. Ages 12-15 can assist with a chaperone; those aged 16+ can be here "on your own."
Occurs weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the summer months, and weekly on Thursdays in the late fall and winter, early spring. Some variation in the schedule may occur. For more information, contact the zoo's volunteer coordinators at newzoo.education@browncountywi.gov
