The You Belong Respite Event is a day program for families who have a family member living with a disability. You Belong provides a 5 1/2 hour long respite event 1 Saturday a month.
These events focus on providing a high quality experience for participants. We focus on empowering, encouraging, and loving with compassionate care in engaging activities and projects.
During the event, volunteers serve as buddies to our participants. Buddies help the participant by simply being a friend for the day. They engage through games, activities, arts and crafts projects, and more! You Belong provides training, and support for all volunteers throughout the event to make sure volunteers our comfortable and supported in their work. Support includes registered nurses and staff that take care of all personal care and medical needs. Full day is 6 hours. There are also half-day shifts.
