Description

Looking to volunteer with friends and learn about the Campus Cupboard at the same time? Look no further!

Volunteers are always welcome to help the Campus Cupboard, but a vital step is to learn how to do it! Invite your friends and coworkers and come join J.D. on Monday, September 25 at 5:15pm to learn how to volunteer for the Cupboard! These shifts are great for new and returning Cupboard volunteers, including students, faculty, staff, and community members. Once you’ve completed this half-hour training, you are welcome to stay for longer to apply the new skills you’ve learned, or you can come back and volunteer whenever!

Duties Description

Volunteers will be greatly appreciated to spend ½ hour with Cupboard student leadership to learn about what the Cupboard is, what are the best ways to make an impact on the Cupboard, and the great things volunteering with the Cupboard has to offer! You will learn about the Cupboard as an organization and the vital impact it has on the UW-Green Bay community, important rules and procedures in place for users and volunteers, some of the most common activities volunteers do, and how to be involved with the Cupboard and on campus.

Some volunteers may be moving large and heavy items, which may include some greater than 50 pounds; positioning self to stock donations on low and high shelves; remaining in a stationary position; and communicate with users about organizational policies and assist users as necessary. Volunteers will need to allocate ½ hour at the beginning of the training time for learning but are welcome to leave or stay if they’d like afterwards. Community members are welcome to join us. Youth must be accompanied by a parent unless other arrangements are made in advance with Cupboard staff.
