Are you looking for an exciting way to get involved in your community this fall?
According to ProLiteracy, more than 30 million adults in the United States are unable to do math, read or write above a third grade level. This means these adults may struggle to communicate with their children's school, fill out job applications, read the newspaper or participate in local community events. Literacy Green Bay serves over 500 students who come to us for a variety of reasons, all of them looking to improve their quality of life through the power of Literacy. If you are passionate, and willing, Literacy Green Bay would like to invite you to sign-up for our Adult Tutor Training workshop. There is no previous experience required, and we provide four sessions of hands-on training courtesy of our own volunteers. An RSVP for this training is required, and all four sessions are required to complete the training.
The dates for the Tutor Training Session are as follows:
Monday September 30th
Wednesday October 2nd
Monday October 7th and Saturday October 19th.
Each date there will be a morning session (9am-12pm) or evening session (6-9pm) available, potential tutors are welcome to attend whichever is more convenient for their schedule.
Please e-mail lbrinks@literacygreenbay.org or call our office at 920-435-2474 to confirm your spot in our training today! Each of these sessions is required, but accommodations/exceptions are available upon further discussion.
